There are lots of apps being marketed to help people "regain control" of their inboxes and to stop us drowning under the sheer quantity of emails flying around.

Oh yes, I do. I have to clean up my mailbox first thing in the morning and then read all the necessary ones. I do not like if the number of unread emails in my mailbox is huge. It bothers me so much that sometimes I even ask my husband to let me clean his mailbox, LOL. He find it funny that it bothers me so much.
It bothers me too. I try to stay on top of the new ones every morning but one or two always seem to escape then I need a big clean up operation every once in a while!
Not really. Most of its junk mail or newsletters I signed up for and never read!
I'm lucky, I really don't get too much Junk.
I mainly get what I need from the right people :)
But.......'if' I have not been at the computer for say a week, when it was being fixed.....then it is very full and takes about 30mins to clear.
Lucky you ! I have changed country twice and I get so many job notifications and daily deals. I turn them off/unsubscribe when I can. I have so many more to unsubscribe.

keep going, you will get there if you unsub :)

Oh yes, I try to turn off emails whenever I can but even that takes some time to do, doesn't it?!
Sure does :(

It's the amount of junk email I get that overwhelms me. I keep unsubscribing from them, but for every one that I unsubscribe from I seem to start getting two more new ones. It's a never ending cycle!
I know what you mean - it can feel like they're breeding sometimes....
I do a mass delete now and again, I think I'm due another one about now.
Me too! It's part of what prompted the question lol
I just cleaned out my inbox. No longer overwhelmed...for now.

It's a good feeling isn't it, if only it could last a bit longer....
I know!

I got a new laptop recently and for a while, I kept my inbox down to under 10 emails but over the last few months it's all got out of control again and I now have over 200 sitting there. I'm sure I don't need that many! I need to find a quiet hour or two, take a deep breath and get deleting....
I presently have 1320 unread e-mails. Yes I feel a little overwhelmed!!
Goodness, that's a LOT! And to think I was stressing about 200!!
Yes I do. I have so more mail coming in than I can read and delete. Some of the emails that have to deleted on examination of the subject. However, it's so difficult to find the time even for that.
Yes, although I know I shouldn't. I am getting better as I have managed to split my emails in to two sections : the work section to be dealt within between 8am and 6pm, and the after work section. It seems to work ok now.
No but get fed up with SPAM, JUNK mail etc.
and wonder why the provider isn't vetting SPAM and other crap.
How do they get our email addresses?
Farley
Yes I do, and what's more fustrating is most of them I didn't ask for, and some of them just won't go away, or you have to go through certain steps to try to get rid of them, and it still doesn't work!
