I have been to a few but found them very crowded. I am not a big fan of them. I prefer to listen to music or watch music documentaries or music dvd's in the comfort of my own home. Festivals tend to be uncomfortable with huge lines to go to the bathroom, music that is so loud that you can't hear it, and crowds... Not pleasant at all.
I don't like music festivals because of the crowds. I also don't find watching someone sing on stage all that interesting. Music is to be listened to, not watched, so I'd rather listen in the comfort of my own home.
I'm just back from the Woodford Folk Festival. I didn't see many musical acts this time because I was too busy looking after my kids but there was a lot of other stuff on that made it well worth while. I love the atmosphere there.
NO, I've never liked the crowds, well not since 2000, after going to the 1999 NY'sE fireworks in Sydney. We haven't been to see any fireworks since then, but we do stay up each NY'sE & watch them on TV!
