I have not done so for quite some time. I am a real home body as I love my own space with my dogs and my garden. I live in the tropics where the lifestyle is so relaxed that I rarely feel the need to get away from my usual surroundings. I actually feel extremely blessed to be so genuinely content.
Yes I have done so, very recently actually...was very enjoyable not having to worry about anything except where you were going to eat that particular day! and whether you should have a swim/spa/walk or not..
Occasionally, but not very often. I can't remember the last time we did, actually. We stay overnight in the City a few times a year if we have been to a theatre show, as they often finish around 11.30pm, so we stay overnight instead of driving home at that hour, as we live quite a way from the City. Other than that, we don't go anywhere else.
I regularly get away each October long weekend to the Hunter Valley. Fortunately the small group I go with hire a mimi bus so we can do the wineries and not have to worry about driving. Other than that it's with one of my daughters and her children with athletics competitions and Nationals. March will be a little different as they will be competing in Perth so we've decided to take extra time to explore the State as we are in NSW and it's a long way and expensive for just a weekend.
Used to go camping regularly. Loved it! Went swimming & horse riding at same place. Just heaven for me!
Only downside was having to leave at lunchtime Sunday. I found this grossly annoying, but couldn't do anything about it, unfortunately. I'd have been quite happy to leave at 3pm. As the kids' got older camping became less of a pastime, until it ceased totally.
I really miss it, as it did one good to 'go scrub' once in a while, I think!
We don't do 'short breaks' either. We go to Melbourne for 7 days, about 5 times a year. In August we hope to be going to Bali for a wedding, & a cruise? Maybe in 2018 or for our 50th wedding anniversary in 2019? (Lets hope so!)
Would love to, as there's so many places that look great and aren't far away, but being single makes it less appealing. I've travelled the world by myself (4-6 week trips), but for some reason a short trip doesn't seem worth it. Don't know why! Maybe I need a re-think...
