I have never done this in my life!!! I used to walk to work, was on my feet all day except for my breaks and then walk home again,so I think I was getting my quota of steps in each day!!! I am not able to walk without my cane when I am away from the house, unless I am using a trolley at the supermarket(and then I zoom along like an Olympic sprinter!! Hee Hee!!!) so I know that I am not getting a high number of steps any time at all now! I am not even interested in knowing the number!!!
I think it's possibly one more than NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, now that I think about this,I guess it depends on whether we have 2 legs or 4! My dogs obviously do way more steps that their little human!!!
Yeah, sometimes I pay attention to the 10,000 steps a day recommendation, or use a pedometer game like The Walk or Step Buy Step as incentive to walk more. Other times I don't bother. In an average day when I'm not particularly trying (don't actually go for a walk or a run) I do between 6000 and 10000 steps.
Yes. I used to wear one when I was working, and I did probably double what the recommended amount per day is. Now that I am not working, I need to find more opportunities to take more steps to increase my daily rate.
Yes - I walk 6-8 kms per day and that usually entails about 11/12,000 steps at my length of stride. My fitbit measures the steps, distance, calories, food intake, etc. etc. so there is an accurate record.
