The only sort I make is a "proper" European one using ricotta cheese - the recipe was given to me by my mother so it is a German one!
It is delicious and not sickly sweet like the ones made with cream cheese, and some even have cream, cream cheese and no baking, but these are the very sweet ones which are not like the real cheese cake that I know!
This is what my mother taught my sister to make. It ended up being my sister's 'signature' item!!!! I have never been a fan of cheesecake, so I never ate any of it!! However, EVERY person who does like cheesecake, always comments on this dessert which is made from scratch at home!!!
My family loves all sorts of cheesecakes. We usually make a cheesecake instead of buying it and we mix up the variety depending on what we had last. We don't just stick with the one style of cheesecake.
I used to make cheesecake quite frequently. I had a number of recipes, including a lovely lemon one, an apricot one with walnuts in the base, a chocolate one. These days I try hard not to overindulge so restrict myself to buying a single piece at a cafe now and then and really enjoying it. I know if there was cheesecake sitting in my fridge I would eat far too much of it.
I always make cheesecakes. Never buy them. To be honest, i havent made one for a while. I suppose once the summer comes, and party season starts up, ill make some then. They feed quite a few people, so only have them if lots of people coming round.
I do not really enjoy any sort of cheesecake very much, so I never make them! My mother used to bake proper European cheesecakes and taught my older sister how to make these,They were always a real hit when visitors came over. I would always go without though!
I used to make them many years ago, but now I don't even buy them, but I still like them! I'd like to buy 1 slice from The Cheesecake Shop. (They also make a tiramisu cake, which I may buy a slice of, for my next birthday!)
