Rain clouds in the sky kick my anticipation to wait and watch for the 1st tiny droplets to land gracefully drenching the ground beneath my feet..
I love the smell of the earth that whiffs off after being touched by the first wave of rainwater..
Where I am & my mood determines what I do during rain.. I can remember schooling & teen years when all friends will troop to the playground to enjoy dancing in the rain before playing some football..
I remember many a occasion when I've walked home with friends from school deliberately getting wet in the rain though protection was available..
These days I satisfy myself by watching the rain splatter on the roof or forming a mirror-like surface on the streets.
Rains are nostalgic!
Only when I don't have to go out in it! Yes, I enjoy watching lightning during a thunderstorm, although last week we had one which was a little too close for my liking, usually, when it's off in the distance, it's lovely.
I usually don't have time when I'm home in Perth but when I'm travelling I like to. The most amazing thunder storms I've ever seen was when I visited India during the monsoon season. The contrast between the dark grey rain clouds and the brilliant green of the paddy fields was breathtakingly beautiful. The crashes of thunder were SO loud too. Watching the rain in far north Queensland is awesome, too, during the Wet Season...especially when you get out into the countryside.
When I was in England a couple of months ago I enjoyed a bit of rain-watching too, from the warmth and comfort of my hotel room.
I love watching the rain, almost as much as I love listening to it on our iron roof. Personally love the thunderstorms, however our dogs are terrified of them so it has taken the shine off of it a bit!
I love being all snug and dry at home while I watch the rain. It's nice to listen to rain on a tin roof. I also love the smell of rain on hot ground/cement when a storm breaks in summer. If I will be home soon and the weather is warm I like walking in the rain and getting wet!. When I get home I get into dry clothes.
