Yes, I love swimming underwater - it is a nice feeling.
I am trying to teach a friend how to swim and she has a fear of putting her head underwater also.

I find it very difficult to explain how to duck dive under water, as dont really know which muscles I use - I just DO it! Strange...but several of the things I do in the water are difficult to explain.

Underwater with hair flowing feels nice!

I haven't swum under water for a long time but I used to enjoy it. As you said, Finy, I enjoy the feeling of freedom.

well, that was short and sweet - and why not Miss Rice - scared of putting head under water??

Scared is such a little word. . . . Let's expand to terrified, petrified and scared less. LOL LOL

I like swimming just under the surface of the water but when I tried freediving (swimming deep underwater by holding your breath) I struggled to relax. Although I attended a two day course and learned how to do it safely I found the pressure hurt my ears and I didn't like being several metres below the surface.
I did back in the 60's.
But since getting older...no the water affects my ears.
If I had too, I would swim under water now, but that would be my only reason.

Ah! those were amazzing times at the beach nearly ever single day. :)
I love swimming underwater.i love the feeling of my hair drifting and think the view underwater is often interesting.
I struggle with ear infections so I am always aware that I could be getting water in my ears.

No not anymore. I used to love swimming under water when I was a child but I no longer like it and I don't know why.

I've only tried it once in sea water, rather strange feeling.
Yes I love it!
It's a shame I can't hold my breath for longer.
My younger brother used to love swimming under water & used to swim our swimming pool underwater a couple of times with 1 breath. My mum was horrified! (We had the 1st swimming pool built in our suburb, way back in 1962!) The last time I swam underwater would have been on Gili Air, off Lombok Jan' 95, where I got an ear infection, but with a visit to the local Dr, (who couldn't speak English,) & $2.35 worth of ear drops, my ear was better in about 3 days!

I can't swim so no. It's ironic because I live on an island. I actually only went to the beach once every year in the past but currently that number is zero.

Mainly due to the fact that I only went there on Church trips or if a relative was visiting the country and wanted to go.
