Totally depends on my mood. Some days I love it and some days I hate it. Here in Cairns I find that by the end of the wet season I'm sick of the sight of muddy puddles. But I do always LOVE watching my kids enjoy playing in puddles - muddy or otherwise!
Actually I discourage my children from doing it too, I just think it is too much work to clean their clothes. In fact, my children feel icky after their clothes dirty so they nag me crazy till I change them. So jumping in muddy puddles is not for our family.
''Go play in the park, and if you come back clean your in trouble''.
I'm old school, and in those day kids could go play and be safe, and have the best time....so I gave them permission to do just that.I would buy second hand clothes, and just let them go.One found a Mulberry tree, and purple was the order of the day! face hands feet you name it.
I LOVE jumping in puddles :) And as you can see from the photo, so does my son! I encourage him to get as dirty as possible and to spend a lot of time playing outside. Yes it makes a fair amount of washing but I would far rather do the washing and have a happy and healthy boy (and Mummy!). My husband really dislikes getting dirty and winces when he just thinks about it, so I'm pleased that in this regard our son takes after me.
