Yes. We have roasts fairly often. We usually have lamb, beef, or chicken. We like it cooked medium. Roasts are something that we usually have with the family, so it is something that makes me feel good, which conjures up memories of happy times. We always laugh and have the best time when we have our family roasts.
When I cook Roast beef myself, I like it medium with a bit of crunch outside!! I also really have enjoyed the Rare Roast Beef which is available in the Deli section of Woolworths. I have sometimes, when it is on special, bought half of one of their pieces, asked them to shave some and leave the rest in a large piece which I then cheat with and 're-roast' (basically warm through!!) in my oven so I can enjoy it warm with roast vegies!!
This is the only Roast beef which I will ever purchase from the Deli. The other types are just too salty for me!
I love Roast beef but sadly have not eaten it in years thats if you are talking about rolled roast with the sticks through and tied with string, the reason I do not eat it anymore is that the butchers do not use the correct meat in this roast as a child we had this roast on a regular basis.
Yep, same for me, and I have never had that same flavour in roast beef. A butcher friend told me that when I am referring back to the rolled roast beef, with the sticks and the string, that t that time they were using SCOTCH FILLET !!!!!
I found this hard to believe. There is a strip around the scotch fillet cut and he said that that was was "rolled. Do you believe this ?
