You eat the same as me! we could not save the pigs however! I did not do it for that reason but because all over the internet is that cattle get fed hormones in Australia in their food, and I had a cancer that fed on estrogen so i stopped red meat! does that make sense -it had nothing to do with killing of animals.
Any reason is a good reason, finy . . . and yours is one of the best. As for the piggies . . . maybe we could pretend that the small amount we eat would only amount to a piggy who died of old age. *wink, nudge* :-)
I tend to eat vegies more than any meat.I do enjoy Lamb and I love the many things which can be made with chicken. My favourite type of 'meat' though is fresh fish which my friend often shares with me from his catches out on the Reef!
We have red meat twice a week, then we have, chicken, pork, once a week, fish twice a week, & vegetarian once a week, but I like chicken then salmon best of all. We also have bacon, when a recipe calls for it.
We tend to eat more chicken because it's cheaper, but I still like to have red meat, especially in winter for a nice curry, or slow cooker, and I have a teenage son that I think is important he gets a variety.
Yes, a variety is good, Diana. Thanks why I try & cook each meal I make from a recipe once a year. (I have to date all my recipes, in the cook books I used to use, now I have a meal list in an online folder in 'Drafts. I know, it's CRAZY!
