Do you ever enjoy a glass of wine when you're home on your own? Maybe a glass of bubbly in the bath? Would you go to the pub and have a drink on your own?
Drinking alone is often associated with alcoholism, but I don't think that's a fair association. A glass or two of wine can be perfectly healthy in my opinion, so long as the person has a healthy relationship to alcohol.
Well I certainly drink plenty of tea all by myself.... but I don't think that's what you're talking about! I don't see why drinking alone should automatically be considered a problem. It's only a problem if you feel you need the alcohol or are dependent on it in some way. Drinking alone or sociably can be just as good or bad as the other, it all depends on the individual.
Absolutely! I generally don't go to pubs anyway, but will have a drink at home on my own. I've just made a fabulous batch of alcoholic ginger beer and have been enjoying a few glasses while soaking in the bath.
Oh how I wish I had the opportunity to drink alone!! Unfortunately these days as soon as I bring out a glass of wine someone will need to be boobed back to sleep. Or my daughter will be asking if she can have a sip of "bundy bear". I also used to love popping out for dinner, just me and a book, have a few glasses of wine or bundy and then wandering home (sometimes to continue drinking lol). I also truly believe that I used to write my best assignments while under the influence of a few bundys...although it's always best to proof read sober!
I love having a glass of wine when I'm at home alone - not that I ever am - and reading my book. When I lived in Sydney I used to take my book to the pub and have dinner and a couple of glasses, read happily, then wander home. Those were the days! It's one of the things I really look forward to when the kids have all grown up, a quiet glass of wine with my book.
A glass of wine with Lunch or Dinner helps digestion.
There's much enjoyment achieved in learning about wine. Many years' ago, before kids', I attended lectures on wine & was in a Wine Club.
It was at one of these lectures', that I was 'invited' to complete an MW Course!
Unfortunately, as I had too many other commitments, as well as other Studies' at the time, I had to gracefully decline! Shame!
But to savour a beautiful, preferably Australian, wine is just pure bliss! Especially if it's a 'Grange'!
