I do not like it when people are unreliable as are some of the people in my life.
I know when you have small children, it is different, however I find in my volunteering job that certain people are un reliable and it is the same ones all the time -ring up with no notice that they cannot come in (not due to sickness) and this really annoys me.
I make a point to be reliable particularly for friends and family.
Because I have a lot going on these days....I can at times be a tad late.
I also can at times have things crop up, that take 1st priority....so I am at the mercy of things going on around me.
If a friend or relative said ''I need you NOW', I drop everything and get to them.
That is one thing I will always do, and have told everyone.
It would need to be urgent or important.
I would not let them down, on that.
Things happen in life, and people do have problems. It's better (to me) to give a little rope, because we all have bad days.
We all would like that little extra rope if we could not do something.
'Grace' is something valuable and if I give a fair amount....then I ask for a little back.
Not everyone has a smooth sailing, with their every day to day things.
On the whole I am but I do have to cancel a lot of engagements at the last minute due to chronic health problems. But my friends and family understand about this so it's not a problem for them. I find it highly frustrating though!
I do my best. I hope I am reliable. However, I do have a very busy schedule and small children and sometimes the sheer amount of things to be done gets difficult (or at least that is how I excuse myself :))
