I don't buy candles anymore as never seem to light them.
However I used to buy good ones as who knows what they put in the cheap ones!

Always have a normal 'Dinner' candle burning at dinner time.

When watching TV, have candle burning, which I find very relaxing. Enjoy Lavender, melon or sea-spray as perfumed ones' only. Some are way too sickly sweet, & strong for me, so avoid them, as headache producing.

Buy from Dusk, when they've a good sale on, but other than that, get at '$2' stores.
I'm with Finy. I buy good quality candles for use at home.

I really do not use them much, but I prefer the better ones ....that's for sure.
do not like or buy scented candles .
I always try to buy soy candles. They are better for you and the environment, burn longer, and are cleaner.
i love candles and they smell real good.
I don't have a preference so I buy whatever smells nice as I pass the shops.
do not buy candles, have some candles bought many years ago for when we had blackouts in those days.

I LOVE Yankee candles. Their fragrance can't be surpassed (in my opinion). The purchase price in Australia though is quite high sooooo......I waited until I travelled overseas and bought quite a few at 75% off the original price. I'd have to say that junk shop candles initially are perfumed but this disappears very quickly leaving you with a basic unscented candle handy for a blackout.
I came across Yankee candles just the other day. The smelled divine!

Yes, I love them too, especially the caramel, the chocolate and the coffee. You can sit them on the bench without lighting them and still smell them.

I buy Flametree Aromatic candles from a lovely lady at the King George Square Twilight Market in Brisbane. My favoured choice is black raspberry, which is absolutely gorgeous so very very sensual.
Why did my mouth water as I read this?! They sound wonderful!

Vee - I gave the web address of Flametree Aromatic Candles in the post below - sorry I meant to add it to this post for you. Check note below. These candles are really delicious!

I just had a look at the website, norma. I see they have some really thoughtful gifts . . . I particularly liked the "Will you be my bridesmaid" candle. How sweet. Thanks for sharing :-)

Don't know if you are in Brisbane Vee but if you are check out the Twilight Market in King George Square for these candles. If not in Brisbane the website is www.flametreearomatics.com.au. These are soy candles and burn for a pretty long time. Prices are very competitive too - don't know about their delivery charges though if you are outside Brisbane. They really are fabulous candles, although I am obviously speaking about the black raspberry - she has many other scents.
No, I don’t do candles, nor have any space to put lighted candles, but a friend keeps giving them too as presents, so I just put them into a cupboard.
My lovely sister-in-law used to light 1 nightly, as she was going to bed, for years, after her only son died in a car accident. I thought that was a lovely thing to do.
I buy Lovlee Candles, they are sold at Markets around Brisbane, I think she also has an online shop., They smell divine plus she only uses Soy and quality products. Ever smelt a Monkey Fart? Well she has it......Bananas.
Sounds worth investigating, lol. Thanks for sharing. :)

I always buy 100% soy candles. I buy from Melting Memories Adelaide, they often have stalls at markets in Adelaide and stock goats milk soaps to melts to soy candles in heaps of fragrances. Have to get in quick though as she sells out of the soaps and popular scents quickly. Also does Bomboniere Favours too. I sms her on 0410 562763 to find out where she is selling next.

Me too.... very happy with purchases from Melting Memories - candles and melts. Prices are great and lot of sizes and fragrances to choose from.

I love buying the gorgeous fragranced candles from Armstrong & Phillips in Lilydale. They are the only commercially made, fully Australian candles left in Australia. Buy on line or in person. The prices are excellent, they burn for ages, and smell divine. I love driving out to buy in person, and find many gifts for others as well. They are really good with Soy & Wax, oils, holders, sachets etc.
Best candles I've EVER bought was from the candle shop in the complex at 'The Rocks' in Sydney.
Used to buy up big when in Sydney, & I've still got some from there & that would've been 30 years'ago!

In same building was a 'Prisoners' Workshop' & bought a Chess Set, & bronze horse picture from there. Love them, & my son was an Interschool Chess representative for his School, & 3rd in the State.

Are those shops still there, does anybody know?
My trips to Sydney have been, time wise, flying ones, so no opportunity to go into City to check.
My thanks!
Definitely not cheap. Cheap equals migraines and asthma.

Junk shop candles are definitely not good enough...I have recently discovered Australian made, Le Reve organic soy wax scented candles, they are amazing!
