I asked this question because sometimes I do not wrap presents for my family.
It does not happen often however, but if I get a nice bag from a shop, I sometimes leave it in this.
I have started this year to use beautiful boxes, and cannot decide if to also wrap them with paper, but I think the idea of them is that you do not wrap them, so probably will just put a bit of tape on them to keep the lid on.
Boxes are far better as you can re-use them in many way.s
Wrapping any gifts which I give is the HUGE pleasure for me!! I have even done several Demonstrations of various different and creative ways to wrap items for gift giving! I often like to get a Festive Linen tea towel to use rather than wrapping the main gift in paper, and this way the recipient gets an Extra little useful gift to enjoy using on Christmas day for years to come!! Wrapping for me is the fun part of gift giving as it is so good to see people trying to guess the contents as well as not destroy the intricate packaging!
I love wrapping things up really nice.
I have bought also some unusual small 'gifts', that get wrapped with ribbon (for the effect on top of the gift).
e.g. like in my pic.
Just a way of being different, and making the most out of the season.
I usually wrap gifts. If it is an awkward shape I usually put it in a pretty gift bag. If it is fragile I will wrap in tissue paper and pop in a decorative box. If the recipient has trouble unwrapping a gift I will put it in a bag.
Presentation is important and makes a difference. When I was having babies I noticed the difference between being given some hand me downs neatly folded and presented in a box or the same items handed over in a gar bag. It feels different.
I ALWAYS wrap presents before giving them, with a ribbon around them, which has to match the wrapping paper. Iíve never used sticky tape on the paper. At Christmas Iíve always had a 2 colour theme, so you can imagine how much paper & different ribbons Iíve had to buy each year! But I love doing Christmas like that. I have a list of my colour themes I've used, for about the last 30 years! The wrapping papers & ribbons have to match the 2 colour tree decorations, just to get of the main point!
I spend quite a long time wrapping gifts. I like them to look exciting, especially for those who really appreciate the effort. If I am putting someting in a gift box or bag I will usually still wrap the gift first although it may be simply tissue paper and a pretty ribbon. Gift wrapping needn't be expensive if you use your imagination.
