Many places, e.g. doctors, x-ray etc have signs asking you to turn off your mobile phone.

Do you always turn off your phone when you see a sign asking you to do so?

I have to admit that, because it rings not often, that occasionally if I am not going to be long, I do not turn it off.

I once forgot in the pictures as arrived late, and that, of course, was the one time that it DID ring -how embarrasing!

LOL! That is always the way the cookie crumbles.

Yes, I always assume there is a good reason for turning off your phone.

Thanks :) I was out sick for a while, and it took me a while to get back on my feet. I'm finally getting back on track and getting back to work here.
Good to hear.

That's a huge

Yes!
Of course! It's just plain courtesy, & I'm sick of ALL the 'me' people who think the directive doesn't apply to them!
Yes, it's a bit like the no parking signs that to not apply to "certain" people. *harumph*

I turn off my phone before entering church and at the cinemas. If I am at the doctor's surgery, I will ask the attending doctor or nurse if it's non-negotiable.

Me too :)

If I'm in the movies I just switch the ringer to vibrate. Otherwise I do turn it off, yes.
Definitely!!! Say no more!!!
It depends. Usually I just turn it to silent

Yes. It's called 'good manners', a foreign concept to many!
Yes. Unless you are in line for an organ transplant there is not much that can't wait a wee while.

Like Finy, my phone hardly ever rings anyway, I'd still turn it off before going in to the movies, to see a play or when I very occasionally go to the opera.
I have had a couple of x-rays done, but I wasn't asked to turn off my phone beforehand, so I didn't think of doing that myself of cause!
