Here in the tropics we have insects most of the year.I have to be very careful as I am allergic to some of them.March Flies make me extremely sick and I use a special insect repellent which was devised at the University up here to cope with these in particular! I also contracted Ross River Fever in Feb 2012,and being a poly-arthritic virus,it affected me even more severely than usually known due to me having an arthritic disease since childhood. They do not call it 'Break Bone Fever' for nothing!!! I have actually never gone into remission from that bout of it. Ouch!!
We live by a river, so we get lots of gnats during muggy weather, which are really annoying. Flies are annoying if they get in the kitchen (which leads to the garden), because you constantly have to wave them away from food.
I think it's the tiny months, that annoy me the most. I try & catch these with my hands, so I don't have to use the spray can. These days my hands seem to be getting slower at catching any, as I get older! And we do have fly screens on all the windows as well as the front door, (we only have 1 going-out side door!) so they must fly inside with us, when we come inside from being outside!
