I often had silkworms as a kid.
I used to love having them and watch them eating the leaves and growing.

I found it fascinating and probably still would!

I also had these fascinating critters when I was at school. We had them in a huge fish tank in the classroom, which was made to resemble their natural habitat with mulberry branches It was super fun!!

But since then,I have not had the pleasure of them!
Other kids at school had them....but not me :(
Growing and metamorphosis isn't the same as evolution. It'd take a long, long time for them to evolve in a way that might be noticeable.

I had silkworms as a kid but I can hardly remember what that was like. I'd like to get some for my own kids when our mulberry tree is bigger and we can feed them.
No I never had silk worms

Went through the 'silkworm craze' in primary school. We had a mulberry tree in the back paddock, so plenty of fresh feed for them, & I used to take extra leaves to school for kids who didn't have easy access to a tree!

I loved watching the silk worms, & their beautiful golden yellow little 'homes'!
No worms for me.

We had them as kids and had a mulberry tree growing in the back yard. We did watch them spin their cocoons but sometimes the smell wasn't that good.
I think our classroom had them when I was at primary school, but I didn't personally own any.
I love them. The remind me of marshmallows.
yes, what a pleasure they give children .

I can remember winding the silk off some of the cocoon's,
Wonderful little creatures. Every year we had them in school. Lovely childhood memories of them.

We didnít have them as kids, & neither did our 2 children, but when our granddaughter was 4, she had them at her pre-school, in Richmond Vic. I donít know where the mulberry leaves came from.
