I've never tried it since we don't have a fireplace, though I suppose I could have a go if we're on holiday and have a camp fire. It looks like it would be kind of satisfying to do.
I think I tried once when I was a curious child and had difficulty lifting the heavy axe!
If I really had too, then yes.
Otherwise I would have to ask one of my sons.
I have once tried, and it's hard work.
I have used a chainsaw, so I would buy one and use it,
providing there is electricity, there probably isn't for this question...is there?
You can have as much or as little electricity as you'd like for the question lol

We use a chainsaw (petrol powered) to cut rounds, then chop blocks with an axe.

LOL....LOL. :) Great and can I borrow the chainsaw too please.

I've never had the opportunity. Somebody I know almost took off their leg, so if I ever tried it, I would be extra careful.

It is very easy to do.... quite a dangerous activity! :(

I'm ok at the kindling, but not so great at chopping blocks.
No I can't do this.

When I lived on a farm and had a fireplace, I had plenty of wood as had a lot of trees that died.

I had to pay someone to cut the wood as it was an extremely difficult job and some of it needed a chain saw -there was no way, even someone much stronger than me, could have used an axe.

They also did the kindling.

Yes, was taught as a child. No big deal. My son could chop bush timber for BBQ at a young age, much to the chagrin of friends' Lol!
Just collect kindling from the ground, again in the bush.

!
No - isn't that what men are for? I am only feminist when it suits.
Yes, I learned how to chop firewood when I lived in New Zealand.
Beautiful pine for open fires =, lovely when the winters set in, nothing better than sitting in front of a nice fire with the lights off - so cosy.
