No, I would "survive" however not happily.
I need to get about 7 or even 8 hours sleep to feel good in the mornings.

However, after a while I am usually OK after 6 hours, but 5 is nowhere near enough for me and I would be on reduced capabilities!

I go to bed very early due to a back injury as it hurts less in bed, however seem to fall to sleep almost immediately and then wake up at an awful hour in the morning!

I need at least 8 hours of sleep to work productively.
I try and get 7 or 8 hours every night and I really need it to function properly. I can get by with 6 but only if it's for a few nights - I can't maintain it.

Not happily. 6 is about the minimum I need on a regular basis, but I am in a better mood and have more energy with 7 or 8.
I find now as I do get older, my sleeping time has been cut to 5-6 maybe 7 hrs a night.
No idea why?
But! come 8 pm I fall asleep at my computer, or if we watch on the odd day 1 hr of t.v.

I know I need more......I just know it.
I need a lot more than that. Though as a teenager I happily burnt the candle at both ends and probably got rather less than 5 hours sleep a night, since being seriously ill I need far more sleep than the average healthy person.

I do very well on just 5 or 6 hours sleep a night! I think because I am not as active as I used to be, when I was working.
I might survive, but it won't be happily for me or anybody around me.

Yes, I do fine on about 5.5 - 6 hours a night. 7 hours is a huge sleep-in for me! Any more than that and I start to get 'aches' (back & hips), my body just doesn't like laying around for that long.
I had to survive on little sleep for quite a while when each of my children were born. I find that I function much better on 7-8 hours sleep (still can't sleep in though!)
I need more sleep than that. I used to get by on 5.5 hours sleep a night when my first born was young. I would have a nap on the train to and from work because it wasn't enough for me really. These days I get 7 to 8 hours sleep a night which is much better.
8+ hours' is what I've always needed to remain alert at work.
Now, can just sleep for as long as needed, for my health.
I'm an 'owl' & go to bed anywhere between 10.30pm to 5.30am! So sleep min 8 hours from whenever!
I need at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
