Reading is the one thing I have never really had any dramas with where my eyes are concerned! I can see close up things well too, like hallmarks on silver and gold,so it is really handy if I want to buy an antique treat!! Pity I am not in the position to do so any more! Hee Hee!!
Do you have glasses now, dgrwriting? It's fun choosing the frames, after the 10/15 minute eye test. My other 1/2 & I have had a few eye tests now, & the latest 1 discovered that I have cataracts on both eyes, & he has 1 on 1 eye. We're going to see a Dr next month, whom we hope we'll give us a date to have them removed. We're a lot older than you, dgrwriting, so I would think you'd only be needing the glasses, but of cause, I'm no eye specialist! I can make the writing bigger on the computer, so I can read it.
So when did they start shrinking the font in the newspaper? By my calculation it was a couple of years ago, coincidentally around the time I turned 40. Every time I look at a newspaper the font just seems to be getting smaller and smaller and don't even start me on those movie theatre screening times!
No I can't, not for about 10 years now, but now I can't read anything with glasses, except for headlines in magazines & newspapers. I have to use a magnifying glass at home to read with. I'm waiting for a date to have my cataracts removed, & I'm going to be seeing a Dr about that in 2 weeks for that. At least I can enlarge the computer writing, so that has been very handy, for reading, writing emails, & answering many these questions that my other 1/2 says is a waste of my time!
I've had both eyes done now, & only need to use 2.50 magnifying glasses for reading. The 1st shop I found a pair in was a chemist & I paid $19.95 for them, then I found them in 1 of those cheap shops for $4!!! I had been looking for them in another shop for $6, but they didn't have any white framed ones, & the shop has now gone!
