As long as the bed is firm and the linen clean, I have no problem. The best bed I have ever slept in was at the Howard Johnson hotel in Anaheim. It was so high I thought I wouldn't be able to even climb onto it, but when I dud, it was like sleeping on a cloud.
I can generally get to sleep in any bed however I have a problem anytime after about 2 am.

A "strange" bed does not seem to worry me as far as actually falling asleep.

I do have a problem often with pillows on the bed as I sleep with a very small, thin pillow at home and sometimes the large pillows annoy me elsewhere.

I am lucky that I fall asleep so quickly as some of my friends are awake for hours before they fall asleep, even in their own beds.

I like a thin pillow too, Finy. Some are like mountain ranges!

I sleep okay in other beds but I don't sleep as long. It may be due to the fact that "other beds" means I am travelling so there is the excitement factor, visiting, late nights and different eating times. We had the biggest bed I have ever seen in Hong Kong and it was as solid as a plank of wood. . . didn't sleep for many hours in that one but at least the pillows were soft.

No. I love to travel, but sleep horribly in other places and beds. Usually by my 3rd-4th night somewhere I can get use to it enough to sleep a bit better, but it's never as good as home in my own bed.
If it is a comfortable bed and I am with the one I love, yes.

hmmm, interesting!!! i wonder who you mean....

It would need to be a top Hotel, that is very clean....then I have no problems.

Anything else, and I wished I was at home.
Stayed in town the other week.
Whole room beautifully appointed, in every aspect, except
Didn't sleep a wink. Pillows too damn large. My pillow at home is thin.

Note to self: take own pillow next time where practical to do so!

In all my travelling years, never had a problem with pillows, but was staying at five star Hotels in those days!

No wonder you see train travellers' with their own pillows!
The only beds I usually sleep in other than my own are those in good quality hotels. The beds are of an excellent quality so I sleep very well. I don't have much trouble sleeping wherever I am. As long as its dark and a comfy bed, I sleep.
I can fall asleep without any problems, but even at home I do not sleep more than 2 or 3 hours in any stretch!! Even when I was in hospital,I slept really well. The bed was one of the new designs which can be set to ANY position the patient desires!!! Even the pillows were lovely!! I am hopefully going to get something similar for home soon!! They DO cost a lot of money, but this would be a very good investment for me.
No I don't.
I can sleep in other beds but I prefer my own. I have the best sleeps in my bed.
7 of 9 Sunday basic/yes/no/sort-of answered question day.
Yes, if it is a comfortable bed and its clean. The most important is that it is clean. If it's not then I feel like I can't put my head on the pillow or cover my body with the sheets and then I get interrupted sleep or can't get to sleep at all
only if it smells good
Yes if it is a quality bed.
Yes, as long I have an under blanket over the blowup mattress at our daughters houses in another state! And I've always been able to sleep on cruise ships, at my sisters house, & at my mother's house. The best bed I ever slept in was in a chateau I was visiting for 1 night with my parents, in the South of France somewhere, in '68. THAT bed made me think I was sleeping on a cloud! I'd always thought that was the best bed I'd ever slept in in my life! I could even sleep in home-stays around Bali, while backpacking for 3 weeks in '95 & in a dingy hotel in India, in '14!
