I wish I had had the opportunity to learn skating when I was younger (among other things). Any balancing activities make me very nervous. I lived in Montreal for a long time, and ice-skating was a huge activity there, but after trying a couple of times, I realized I was bad at balancing and couldn't subject my behind to too many assaults, so gave up (which I regret now in a way).
I think skateboaring is so cool, and even in my 30's, I wish I could skateboard. Alas, the truth is that every time I step on a skateboard, I do the thing where it literally flies out from under my feet and I land on my bum. This has happened every time I try to look like a cool mum and skateboard. I think it might be time to finally admit to myself, I'm never going to be a skatergirl.
I can only seem to ride in a straight line very slowly. I've tried a few times but I can't seem to make the skateboard turn. However, I have no problem riding bicycles, rollerblading, ice skating, or skiing.
