Yes, was a Goalie in our Interschool Team, played for 7 years', then was 'invited' to play for a suburban team upon finishing School, which I happily did for another few years, still Goalie position.

Handy to be tall, the ability to jump high, & accuracy were my contributing skills!
I played a little but couldn't really get the hang of it so didn't really pursue it.

Alas not anymore! The waist is too thick, the knees are weak and the eyesight not as good. Having said that being a country girl born and bred I was raised on a diet of netball and loved it! I retired in my 30's as I was a Mum with limited babysitting options which made it difficult. I regret at times this early retirement but it was the best choice at the time.
I used to play when I was in primary school, I'll hazard a guess and say I can't play it anymore.

No, bit complex for me
I have never heard of this sport before...from the picture, it look similar to basketball. Is that right?
Totally different game! Much easier to watch as well, as not as complicated!

Yes! I went to an old fashioned all girls independent school in England. We played a lot of netball.....
Did not apply in the corporate medical field in which I was employed. My qualifications and references spoke for themselves - sport was never mentioned. I think sport is only relevant if you are working in that particular field or in a team environment.

Don't know why this went on your post Verity, should have gone on my one (below yours)

No - not sporty at all when growing up - more bookish. My sister on the other hand excelled at most sports.
Being involved in Sports, is marvellous for learning how to get on with many different personalities', as is usually a team effort.
Having these listed on a CV is very important, as employers' are interested in a 'player'.

I don't think that is necessarily true. I always had top notch positions during my working career and I can't ever recall being asked if I participated in sports. My CV spoke for itself to employers and I was usually successful in obtaining the position I had applied for and, in fact, was headhunted on several occasions. So, as far as I am concerned my lack of sporting ability had nothing whatsoever to do with success in my career.

You must've applied for a totally different stream of work to me.
Every job I went for, I got. The Interviewers' were very interested to see the range of Sports' I'd/I played.

Sport on CV would be imperative in a job application for a School Sports Teacher, so it's not something that would be of no benefit, contrary to your thinking.

Disagree - did not apply in the corporate medical field in which I was employed. My qualifications and references spoke for themselves - sport was never mentioned. I think sport is only relevant if you are working in that particular field or perhaps in a team environment.
