Best Summer Sport?

Summer is about to hit the southern hemisphere, and what are you going to do to get out and about? What are some of the best summer sports?

Although I don't like swimming, I think it is an excellent sport to take up during the summer months. In the winter, the water is far too cold, and wet hair makes you all the chillier when faced with the wind. But in summer, it can be very calming, and does not get you over heated like some sports will when you are out in the sun.
Swimming. Kayaking - pretty much anything that gets you outside, and preferably near the water....
Hiking is my top summer activity, but I don't think you could call that a sport. I also love to kayak, jog and swim. Although I haven't done it yet, one of my lifelong goals is to be fit enough to run a marathon or a biathle which is similar to a triathlon, but only incorporates running and swimming.
JamieOliversgirl wrote a great article about 5 fun exercises that you could do indoors to escape the rain or sweltering sun - I'm going to try her suggestion of the Sleek Technique which uses traditional ballet moves to tone and strengthen, and can be done through online tutorials in the comfort of your own home.
It depends on where you live. If you're lucky enough to enjoy hot summers, any outdoor cardiovascular activity is fun: riding, rock climbing, swimming, or surfing. That said, running in the sunshine (especially racing against my friends), is always fun.
I have always believed for our Country....if you feel the need for a sport in the heat, then nothing works better than swimming.

Of course there are wonderful sports...but for Summer, you would be best to stick to a sport that is not only something you can do....but! the whole family.

The whole family can have so much fun, and if you want to step up your level you can.
It can be done inside swimming venues, or on the beach...or even if you have a pool at home.
It keeps you cool, in the heat...and still you gain a great deal of benefit to using each muscle in your body.
Also a wonderful way to make sure, every one knows how to swim.
It is so perfect, that if you would like the rest of the family to get up and do something.
Not everyone likes to ride bikes, or walk, or run. Very few hate swimming.

It's time to get our family out of the house, off the couch, and have fun, It is sport that anyone can do.

I'd probably say swimming. I've not done that in years though.
