Sometimes it can be difficult dealing with your parents, and that doesn't seem to change once you're an adult.

As an adult, have you ever lied to your parents? Did the truth come out?

I do omit some of the truth when I know that the truth would make him worry or that he just won't really understand it. He's 81 now and the last thing he needs is worry. He tends to forget anything that will ease the worry and just remember the thing he finds worrying, so I do protect him from that.

The best example is that I never told him we planned homebirths but the truth comes out later because I tell him, and obviously he sees the photos and visits us at home rather than in hospital.
I've certainly hid things
from my parents, but not lied to them.
When my parents have seen a scratch on my wrist, I've lied about how I got it. They don't know how I really got it.
I have to my Mother 30 something years ago.
I since know that it's better to say nothing, than lie.

No the truth didn't come out..
I learned that recently with my mother-in-law. Also learned that I can't actually keep the truth from her because she knows everything!

I think I probably have -depends what age you call an adult.
I'm sure I have actually, but it would have been so as not to hurt them...

Like I lived in Perth and they in Sydney and I would have said I was well and was not -that type of lie...
