Whistle blowing is ok, but sometimes they get a bit carried away and blow things out of proportion. They really need to be careful to get all the facts correct before they draw attention to the situation.
Yes they do have guts. My own experience at whistleblowing was very fulfilling. I went straight to the CEO to "report" my information and he "sort of" rectified the problems. BUT...... once the offenders knew that someone had reported them, and was willing to go on with it all, the greatest pleasure for me was watching the offenders run around like chooks that had had their heads cut off. All of them wanting to "have a go" at someone but unable to identify who it might be, whilst at the same time feeling the need to behave themselves and not show their true colours. These people went from their job one after the other. And their profession was "care" (caring for people).
I tend to agree with all the answers that were given already. Actually I wasn't sure what the legalities were around whistle-blowing and why Assange has gotten into so much trouble. He is painted as a villain somehow but I just wasn't sure about it.
