My husband and I deleted our Facebook accounts. “You can’t delete your Facebook account”, I hear you say. Apparently, there is a way.
Anyway, do you recall the days when the Internet first made its way into people’s homes? We were told to be cautious and not to divulge our personal information online. Today, some people update their profiles so much so that we could readily track them down in the real world. That, in itself, is pretty risky behaviour. But, what concerns me most is companies’ complete disregard for any kind of privacy, unless of course it’s their own.
Are you on social media? How often do you check your account/s and are you at all concerned about your privacy online? What sort of precautions do you take to ensure online anonymity?
I am on FB and Instagram. I have deactivated my FB account a few times, and use it these days mostly to update the Money Off page. I'm not worried about security, but don't like the idea of people divulging so much information all the time.
I'm on it. I think like anything internet, you just have to make sure that what you post is something you'd be prepared for anybody anywhere to see (so maybe rethink that dodgy photo of you out with your mates at 3 am). It's a form of communication that has become important and I wouldn't want to do without it.
Yes, I am on social media, and all this privacy does not worry me in the slightest -I do everything on my computer.
My American express card is linked, and I feel safe with them as if you even just query an amount, they immediately reverse it, unlike a Bank visa card -banks investigate and then reverse if needed.
Bank details are easily given out by me, but that also does not worry me as without password no one can do anything and even if they get in, you are covered by the bank.
I have enough things I worry about, however this certainly is not one of them! I love the internet and all aspects of it. I have a good virus programme and a good technician and ISP in case I have problems.
No. Never have been, never will be. Have no interest whatsoever. I know there are some advantages, like keeping in touch with people far away, but still, just not interested. Couldn't care less that you've just done a work-out or fed the cat or baked a cake - I've got better things to do than listen to people's drivel...
