I recently saw an Alice in Wonderland book on EBay with illustrations by Salvador Dali.
I LOVE his work and find it fascinating how anyone can have a mind to draw as he did.
I have several of his lighographs and also love his black and whites. I collect his books, and also have a perfume by him that I bought at an exhibirion of his in Sydney.
Wow Finy. Feeling envious.
I am familiar.
I don't like it.
It is a very different concept, and he was very very good.
He was a mad as they come.
that's why I love it -it is so different, and so imaginative and of course from a warped mind!
oh! yes indeed his mind was not sound ......lol
Great answer. If you had put, "as mad as a box of frogs", I would have loved it even more ;-)
I have never heard the saying ''mad as a box of frogs''?...lol
I have heard a box of birds for when one is happy or as mad a a sock full of frogs.
Oh yes!!! I studied his life and works when I did 2 years of Art School in the mid 70's. When the Brisbane Art Gallery held a major exhibition,I bought the most phenomenal catalogue in full colour which featured much of his more famous work!! I still enjoy browsing through it.His work ,which is known as Surrealism,is exactly what the word means....beyond reality in perfection!!!
Yes. I'm not a big fan, but I think his work is interesting. I went to see a Dali exhibition once (in London I think it was) and it was good to see the real thing after only seeing them in books before. Some of his paintings are huge!
Yes I do but am not really a fan, prefer Klimpt and Renoir. Am not into still life or abstract or even many landscapes. I love portraits or pics of groups of people.

I'm very familiar with it - as a teenager I was obsessed with Dali and covered all my folders in his art and newspaper articles about him and I had big posters of his art up on my bedroom walls. I have also been to several exhibitions of Surrealism, which were mind blowing.
Nowadays, I'm not so keen on his art but I am still fascinated by him as a man and as an artist.
I am familiar with his art and I quite like it
No I'm not familiar with it.
I'm familiar with it but it's not my cup of tea. Anything abstract leaves me a bit cold so I wouldn't take time pout to go to an exhibition.
Yes, & I just love the 'out there' look of his work. He painted what HE wanted to paint & he couldn't care less what people thought! A modern thinker!
Yes and yes. In fact, I have that very piece hanging in my hallway. I have always been drawn to his artwork, though I do not like all of it.
I'm familiar with it, but it's not my style. I prefer more realism. I love Monet and Klimt, I really like beach and bush scenes and houses.
Yes - although I find it interesting I don't like his style. Two of my favourite artists are Tamara de Lempicka (who had a very interesting lifestyle) and Frida Kahlo whose work is really a journey of her troubled and painful life.
Oh! Norma, if you like Frida Kahlo, have you had the opportunity to see her work, in Mexico City?
Yes - droopy & dribbly.
Ross House in Flinders Lane, Mlb, has 'dali-esque' lift clocks bolted to the walls. Both decorative and fun! :-)
Yes I am and I like it. I don't think you need to be insane to think like he did. I have some pretty weird dreams that look a bit like some of his work so if I really tried could probably tap into some of that imagery.
