I haver never been worried about flouridation in the water as I think it has been invaluable for good dental health but I had not heard about the brain development concerns. I live in Melbourne and we've had flouride in the water here since 1977 and it began in 1953 in Beaconsfield, Tasmania. I still support fluoridation becasue I think it has been in play long enough now for adverse ling term effects to clearly surface and the jury appears to be out on that.
I don't like anything being added to my water. I prefer it being filtered to the point of safety through reverse osmosis. I worked in the water sector for a very short time and I learned enough about what we do to water to know that filtration is certainly the best way to go, at least with our current technology.
