The egg and spoon race is popular at family picnic days and children's sporting events. Earliest records of the race date back to 1894. Have you participated in egg and spoon races? How did you go?

No. I would have to boil my eggs before a face. Would otherwise end up with scrambled eggs everywhere!

Only hard-boiled eggs were used in the 'Races' in which I'd ever competed!

I can't remember that far back, but probably not as am not well co-ordinated.

I was made to change from being a left hander to write with my right and Im sure it affected other things. My year was the last they were allowed to make them change. Who knows what I have because of this idiotic policy

Yes, when in 'little' school! Had no problems, as usually won it!
I can remember, clearly a few days in my childhood where events like this were held. We had egg and spoon, three legged races, bag races, obstacles races thru car tyers, etc and gumboot throwing as an extra for our mums. We got 10c prize money for a win! What a treat to have so much money to spend. The joy of growing up in the beautiful Yarramalong Valley.
Yes, and I was good at it. The secret is to have a steady hand and not watch other participants. Mind you, it's now been many, many years since I've done it.
I'm dreadful at this race but it conjures up a memory of a Sunday School picnic long, long ago. My father and another of men attending, decided they'd run in the race and did very well, winning the race. Too bad they were disqualified because their egg was hard boiled !
We had egg and spoon races at our Sunday School picnic. We were allowed to have a hard boiled egg. Although I am not athletic I used to do quite well in the egg and spoon race.
Nope. Scrambled egg. ⊂(◉‿◉)つ
