They were made in California in the 1960's by a young man..who with his brother started the trend.Mainly for skate board riders.

I think it's my 10th year of wearing, and my feet love them too.
Sadly, I'm not talking about Vans, but the new slip-on footwear trend, which is copying the Vans style, but glamourising it, like my pair from Topshop (above). The High Street as well as designers have taken on this trend and made it a lot more sparkling than the standard skater-shoe.
YES, in in my late 60's, & a year or so ago, bought my 1st pair of Sketchers! 1 of the Hawaiian islands we visited on our last cruise, had a DFO Sketchers
shop, & 3/4's of the people from the ship bought them. We bought 5 hrs, & I now have 6 or 7 pars.
They are so comfortable. I like wearing mine with little socketsThese seem to stop the shoes from smelling.
