No. Not at all. I have learnt to swim but still will not go down the deep end of the pool. I do not like putting my head under water so I avoid doing that. I know to do dog paddle on my back if I get into difficulty. I am not confident at all.
It's an awful fear:(( I have tried many times to learn in my life but I have never conquered the fear. I just stay away from water. Even when we built a pool I never went near it if we had visitors. I made damn sure my daughter could swim, trust me.

I can't swim. Never could. I just ADORE Tommy Lee Jones! Haha.

I can swim, lived at the Beach 1963-64, so was there 360 days of the year....love you Coogee Beach!
I haven't been swimming in at least twelve years, but I am a confident enough swimmer, yes.
I'd like to think I'm a confident swimmer but in reality I know I'm not. Its a lot easier to swim in the controlled environment of a pool but put me on the beach where I have to deal with the surf, waves and currents and I no longer see myself as a confident swimmer.
Yes I am a confident swimmer. I am not fast and was never interested in competitive swimming, but I can swim for a very long time without the need for rest.

Even though I live in Jamaica which has many beaches and rivers I don't know how to swim. I would love to learn though but costs money for classes.
I am not a confident swimmer. I wish I was, but I imagine it would take time and practice to improve. I don't have the option to practice regularly.

My answer to this question, as follows.....
Won my first Swimming Cup at 7, for 25m Freestyle.

Then concentrated on many other 'land based' sports, including horse-riding, for several years, then went back to swimming at 13.

Set record for 50m Breaststroke at 14. It was another 18 years before that record was broken, & only by 1/10th second!

Was Senior School Swimming Champion, & Open School Swimming Champion (all strokes), two years' in a row, at 17 & 18.

Was House, & School Swimming Captain, for two years at ages 17 & 18.
Could swim 25m under water on one breath.
Was 3rd fastest for 50m Freestyle, in a School, including the boys, at 17.

Was youngest Schoolgirl (16), in my State, to hold 'Award of Merit', for Lifesaving, at the time.

On two separate occasions, pulled girls' from bottom of school swimming pool, & resuscitated them.

So, yes, definitely a confident swimmer.

By no means am I. One day I hope to perfect the art.
