The people in our house love them, the peoples (our doggies) detest it, and it really terrifies them. Nothing we do puts them at ease, and it is horrible to watch them so anxious and unable to settle until it passes. As much as I would rather not have to I think I have no option but to get the Vet to prescribe some puppy valium.
My dogs are not at all frightened but I am!
I think it possibly stems from later in my life when I lived on acreage and the noise seemed far louder than in the City.
Also it sound like it struck something several times.
I am from Sydney originally where we had a lot of thunderstorms, but in Perth we do not often get them, yet I am still scared!
My little dog is so scared of thunder that i have to drug her , she shakes with fear and heart beat goes too fast. Put her inside with music going , her bed , toys and my other dog but takes a lot to settle her. I love big storms , but we don't get a lot now we've moved to Melbourne. which is good for the dog's sake.
No ,none of us! One of my dogs was born deaf and she is totally oblivious! However, when I was little, the dog we had then was terrified and would hide under the bed,He would then get stuck and we would have to get Dad to rescue him!!!
