band aid, first aid, wound dressing,

Scrapes and small wounds occur on a daily basis in a household where there are children, and more often than not, a band aid seems to provide instant relief.

In your household, is the usage of band aids quite a common occurrence, or do you let wounds heal on their own?

Yes. I use them myself sometimes if I've got a cut on my fingers that I don't want to get dirt or other gross things in while gardening or changing nappies. They're sometimes useful for the kids too, though they prefer brightly coloured ones with cartoon characters on them.
Fortunately the older I have gotten the less I need band aids.On the rare occasion I do cut my self if the bleeding is quickly stopped I don't bother.
We go through boxes of band aids in a month as my darling daughter is a "huge fan" and needs two band aids for one itsy bitsy scrape, which can only be seen by her eyes.
If I have a cut or graze that hurts when it brushes up against something, then I'll use a plaster, but otherwise I'll just leave it.
We always have some on hand at our place.
I can't live without them.
They are a staple, because leaving open cuts is Not one of my favourite things to do!
They are a must for any house I believe.I do a lot of gardening...so I need them all the time.
Not really. I don't get cuts often, and when I do, they're usually too large for a band aid. Maybe I have a superpower?
We use a lot of them! Sometimes my little ones want one even though they've only bumped themselves and haven't drawn blood. If it makes them feel better, it's alright with me!
I have a big use for band aids as I'm a tradesman I cut my self all the time I keep then in my house my car my lunch bag everywhere
Every winter I get painful deep skin splits right at the fingernail, so need band aids but I've noticed recently that every type I've bought is either the Goldilocks effect - too big/wide, too small/narrow, etc, and the latter one doesn't stick very well on the tip of the finger before it starts peeling off.

I play violin so have to have my fingernails short which contributes to these splits. I also work outside, doing a junk mail round and occasionally a letterbox will win the war between it and my finger.....

I typically use them as soon as I draw blood, but then remove them once a scab has formed to aid healing.

I don't often use band aids, though of course I have a supply of them...

Like Shelley, the older I get, the less I seem to need them!

Perhaps it is because we become more sedentary and do not run around so much as we age? I don't know, but I know a packet lasts me for years now!

Also we no longer have children who are always scraping some part of their body.

Yes, I am always buying Princess or Mickey Mouse Band Aids - the kids love the colors and the placebo effect works most of the time.

Yes, the most useful piece of first aid a household can stock.
ALWAYS have Band-Aids on hand! Pun alert!

I like Elastoplast 1m strip, which can be cut to size required. Have a little cosmetic purse with it, small Savlon Tube, & Nurse's Scissors, at the ready. Carry with me. Be prepared!
I have more types of Band Aids than a Chemist Shop.
I've had packets for so long the paper coverings have turned brown. Rarely used but when the girls were younger I used to buy fancy bandaids as a kiss and a pretty covering worked wonders.
Yes, I always make sure I have bandaids in the house hold, different shapes and sizes.
Yes, Ilike to have some sort of band aids on hand, even in the car, and I sometimes carry them in my bag.
